Our clients in the Beach City area heard about TriFection on HomeShow Radio with Tom Tynan. In case you don’t know, Beach City is located east of Houston, past Baytown on Trinity Bay. It’s a nice little drive, particularly from our office in west Houston…Most Houston-based contractors would be unwilling (or unable) to manage a large remodeling project in this location. At TriFection, however, we cover a very broad territory. Given our longstanding presence on HomeShow Radio, we regularly receive inquiries from Galveston to Conroe, and everywhere in between. As long as the proposed project fits what we do, and the homeowner follows our diligent planning process, we’ll go pretty much anywhere, just like we did for this remodel in Beach City.
These folks in Beach City had a large living and dining area. It offered gorgeous views of the bay and tremendous entertainment potential. Unfortunately, the adjacent kitchen was relatively small and compartmentalized by a wall. So, they asked us to help design a new open concept kitchen that would be more comfortable and flow easily into the living area. We would also remodel the wet bar and fireplace area, with significantly more work on the house to come later.
Completely Re-designed Kitchen Layout
We’ve seen strong demand for open concept kitchens lately. TriFection’s structural expertise allows us to design kitchens and bathrooms creatively, including the removal of walls when necessary. The existing layout of this house set up perfectly for such an open concept. By removing the wall between the kitchen and living & dining area, we could provide a far more spacious kitchen and improved sight lines when entertaining guests.
In the new kitchen, as we commonly do, we removed the old pantry closet. We also relocated the refrigerator and suggested a pro-style range & hood in place of the existing oven, microwave and cooktop. Our clients chose a microwave drawer for the new island. Actually, this kitchen now has two islands – one used primarily for food preparation and a second one for seating. These islands, along with double pantry cabinets and upper cabinets to the ceiling, provide abundant storage.
Bright, Modern Material Selections
Our clients chose a very attractive and distinctive combination of materials. TriFection custom designed and built square-style, raised panel cabinets painted Pure White for the kitchen perimeter. For the islands and nearby hutch cabinet, we stained the cabinets grey. Blue Galaxy granite served as the countertop selection. People who prefer the look of natural stone certainly will appreciate the unique beauty and character of this material. For backsplash, we installed Jumbo Hex Glossy tile a mix of denim and cotton colors. We also laid Aequa Castor wood-look porcelain tile for flooring throughout the area. Lastly, our clients picked Samovar Silver for the wall paint color. We carried over these selections to the wet bar and fireplace area for a continuous look.
Entertainment-Ready With More Work to Come
This open kitchen and living area now represent a true showcase, and our clients are thrilled with the outcome. Future guests will be highly impressed, especially since we subsequently remodeled a guest bath for them. A complete master bath makeover is next on our list. By the time we’re finished, this will be a true TriFection custom home. Certainly worth the drive to remodel in Beach City!
