Last month TriFection continued its history of giving back to the Greater Houston area community through charitable renovations. Partnering with the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) and HomeAid Houston, we remodeled the facilities of the Santa Maria Hostel and Lydia’s Place to better serve residents and their families. Our selections manager Melanie Heinrich served as one of the project managers.
Supporting Very Worthy Causes
The mission of Santa Maria Hostel is to “empower women and their families to lead healthy, successful, productive and self-fulfilling lives.” Santa Maria has transformed lives by serving the women and children of Houston and surrounding areas since the 1950s. By offering vital services and life-changing support, the organization offers a pathway to success through recovery. Learn more about Santa Maria here.
Our renovation included removing doors and adding drywall; painting all of the rooms, baseboards, and ceilings; replacing lighting and flooring; relocating the laundry area and installing two new refrigerators. We also built individual closets for the residents.
Lydia’s Place offers 15 single room occupancy apartments to recovering, drug-free males who are 18 years of age or older, who are living with HIV/AIDS. Residents may reside at Lydia’s Place as long as they are compliant with program guidelines. Support services are available to residents and their families. Learn more about Lydia’s Place here.
For this renovation, we replaced eight air conditioning units and repaired water-damaged walls and floors. We also installed new appliances donated for several units and the office. Volunteers also built a shed to store tools and are working on a plan to renovate the walkways leading to the units.

Co-owners Jeff Roberts and Jeff Reina are lifelong residents of Greater Houston and care greatly about the area.
