Our clients in Spring Branch purchased their ideal home a few years ago. The only thing missing? An outdoor kitchen for the patio area. These folks have a nice backyard and enjoy entertaining friends. Like many of us in the Covid period, they also discovered just how much they enjoy quietly relaxing on the patio with family. So, they decided to upgrade the space with the ability to grill and a fire pit for the cooler nights. Once they found TriFection through an online search, they quickly recognized the quality of our craftsmanship and project management. Plus, we are located “in the neighborhood” and share a love for a good ribeye steak on the home grill. This would be a great working relationship.
Great Outdoor Kitchen Plan
By the time these homeowners contacted us, they had already identified their desired appliances through Lynx. They presented us with detailed drawings and appliance specifications, which made our job easy. Anytime a prospective client contacts us about an outdoor kitchen, our first question is always, “What features do you want?” We cannot design and quote such a project effectively until we know targeted size and how someone intends to use the space. Such features usually include some combination of the following:
- Gas, electric, charcoal or wood-burning grill
- Meat smoker
- Sink & faucet
- Beverage cooler
- Warming drawer
- LED lighting
- Television
- Speakers and other entertainment components
- Ceiling fan
- Fire pit
Once we know the extent of a homeowner’s wish list, we can design and bid accordingly. In this case, our clients clearly had put significant thought into their wish list. This outdoor kitchen would feature a gas grill, sink & faucet, pull out trash can, stainless steel doors & drawers, and a fire pit. They just needed a contractor would could manage and execute it in a high-quality manner. After seeing TriFection’s project portfolio and reading our online reviews, they felt very comfortable.
Outdoor Kitchen Finishes
Our selections manager helped them identify the Silver Falls granite countertops from Arizona Tile. We faced the cabinets with the very popular stacked stone. Both selections complemented our clients’ existing slate patio flooring extremely well. They sourced a very cool pre-fabricated gas fire pit unit on their own, so we simply topped it with the same granite and stacked stone from the kitchen. This unit fits perfectly between the existing brick columns, so it looks built-in and original to the home. After we ran some new gas, water and electrical lines to the right places, our clients were all set to relax and entertain in style!
Outdoor Kitchens Becoming More Popular

Not surprisingly, outdoor kitchen projects have become even more popular since the onset of Covid. We continue to receive a very large number of inquiries from all over Greater Houston, especially as the weather has warmed. We’ve got a couple fabulous outdoor kitchens under construction right now. Stay tuned for those project details. In the meantime, call TriFection at 281-KITCHEN when you’re ready to transform your backyard into a cooking and entertainment oasis!
