To move or not to move. That is the question…..In this case, after a thorough evaluation of the new home market, these Katy clients realized there truly was no place like home. During our initial consultation, the clients fell in love with various bathrooms on our website. They were especially drawn to one particular shower with a very intricate tile design. After seeing those pictures and hearing TriFection’s custom design ideas for her bathroom, they knew we were the right team for this job. Little could they know that choosing TriFection would not only make their home remodeling dreams come true, but would protect that home, too.
Three home remodeling projects in one
There’s no dream like a big dream. In the case of this home remodeling project, our clients wanted to refresh their master bathroom, replace flooring in several rooms, and update their kitchen. We began work in the master bathroom.
Remaking the master bath into something remarkable
Their goal: eliminate the seldom-used, cramped framed glass shower and tub. In its place, they wanted a luxurious walk-in shower with no door. Even more important, they wanted absolutely no glass that would require cleaning.
We designed a seven-foot high wall enclosure, tiled with filled and honed Light Walnut 12×16 travertine from Thorntree in a broken joint pattern. For added luxury, we added a bench seat and two recessed shampoo niches framed inside the enclosure wall. Their Delta shower head was relocated to the adjacent wall. We also plumbed for a separate Delta handheld showering unit.
The shower floor, meanwhile, was covered with 2×2 tumbled Scabos from Earthstone. The rest of the bathroom and two large clothes closet floors were covered with complementary filled and honed 18×18 Dark Walnut travertine.
The outside of the shower wall was tiled with Scabos 2×5 stacked stone from Earthstone, providing a unique, natural look. Then, bland off-white Corian countertops were replaced with beautiful, attention-grabbing Solarius granite from Midwest, fabricated with a waterfall edge, which we matched in the two guest bathrooms. With the tub removed, we framed in a new pocket entry door to provide greater maneuverability within the bathroom without the traditional door swing.
Cooking up home remodeling results in the kitchen
Our client began the kitchen phase of this project by selecting a DCS dishwasher, gas cooktop and oven and Zephyr venthood, all from Nor-West Appliances. Then, based on a picture our client found online, TriFection’s master craftsmen designed and built and a new custom wooden hood above the cooktop, eliminating some of the existing upper cabinetry and staining the new hood to perfectly match surrounding cabinetry. Our clients were amazed by TriFection’s ability to deliver exactly what they wanted.
Our cabinet team then built and installed new drawer boxes to accommodate upgraded Blum soft-close undermount drawer guides. The clients loved them so much they had us add them to the master bathroom as well.
Home remodeling from the floor up
Finally, our clients wanted updated flooring to replace builder-grade carpet in the master bedroom, two guest bedrooms, bathroom and study. The guest bedrooms, bathrooms and study all got an increasingly popular choice among consumers: new Sant’Agostino Aspen Burnt from Earthstone, porcelain tile that looks like wood planks. For the master bedroom, the clients chose Berkshire European Oak engineered wood flooring.
Home remodeling protects home investments in unexpected ways
Our clients are delighted to see their dream home made real. They’re even more delighted that TriFection may have prevented a robbery. One afternoon, while these clients were traveling, our tile crew spotted and chased off a trespasser posing as a house painter. His nefarious intentions may have been realized in a burglary at a neighbor’s house two days later. The way our clients see it, the awareness and quick-thinking of TriFection’s crew helped prevent them from becoming another crime victim.
