Double Bathroom Renovation in Houston

Double Bathroom Renovation in Houston

How do you perform two bathroom remodeling projects that leave a home with no bathroom? Easy. You move out. That wasn’t possible when we first remodeled this Jersey Village client’s kitchen. But, retirement meant our client had more options. This time, he packed up and headed for his lake house while we went to work on this double bathroom renovation in Houston.

Bathroom remodeling overdue

After raising two boys in the original pink and black tiled bathroom, our client was more than ready for something Double Bathroom Upgrade in Houstonnew. New tile, new cabinets, new fixtures—both the master and guest bathrooms would get complete makeovers. First, however, we had to make some major structural changes to the house to achieve the desired layout. We removed a closet, moved a water heater to the attic and blew out all the walls between the two bathrooms. We reconfigured the bathrooms to provide more room in the master and allow for a new shower with less wasted space in the hall bath. Needless to say, we broke lots of concrete and moved lots of plumbing to make all this happen. The setting at the lake house had to be much more relaxing than the sights and sounds of this major demolition and construction work.

TriFection Custom Cabinetry

With the new bathroom footprints in place, TriFection’s craftsmen created new red oak vanities for both bathrooms, stained Auburn Anigre. Nancy Collection Classic Comfort hardware in a brushed nickel finish added a look of sophistication. Then, we topped both sets of Double Bathroom Remodel in Houstoncabinets with Carnival granite from Midwest Tile, Marble and Granite. Kohler undermount sinks, Devonshire faucets and Minka Lavery lights, all from Ferguson, provided the perfect finishing touches to the vanity areas.

Tile Installation Unifies This Double Bathroom Remodeling Project

The floors in both bathrooms feature a hopscotch design of Afrika Capetown glazed porcelain stoneware tile in 12”x12” and 18”x18” from Crossville Tile & Stone. While we used the same Monocibec Graal Arras Natural field tile in both bathrooms, the actual application varied. In the master we used the 10”x20” tile for the shower walls and 2”x2” tile for the shower floor. Then, we used the 10”x20” tile for the tub surround in the guest bath. The master bath features eye-catching Sierra Ledge stacked stone in 6″x24″ pieces on the outside the pony wall. Meanwhile, a 6”x12” mosaic of Triton Flower Border adorns the guest bath tub surround. We sourced all of the tile from Crossville.

New Bathroom Fixtures

In addition to Kohler Cimarron® high-efficiency toilets, we added a Kohler handheld unit to the master bathroom’s frameless glass shower and a Mirabelle Edenton 66″ Soaking Tub in the guest bathroom—all from Ferguson. Both Double Bathroom Renovation in Houstonbathrooms also feature Kohler Rite-Temp pressure-balancing valves that work behind the scenes to prevent scalding and thermal shock for optimal comfort

Double Bathroom Renovation in Houston-Doesn’t End Here

Since he had vacated the house during the project, our client decided the time was right to have TriFection give the rest of his home a fresh look with new paint. Three bedrooms and the hallway were painted with Sherwin Williams Interactive Cream. The formal dining room and entry were painted with Sherwin Williams Bagel. And, finally, the bathrooms were both painted with Sherwin Williams Livable Green.

Our client was so delighted with his bathroom remodeling project that he’s already thinking about having us back to create an outdoor kitchen. But, as enjoyable as time at the lake house may be, he says he won’t be moving out for that project.
