After years of living with dated laminate counters, plywood cabinets, light box, and furdowns, this client in Jersey Village decided he was ready for a TriFection kitchen remodel to mark the start of a home makeover.
Manly kitchen remodel project
Our client let us know he wanted his western ranch-style home’s kitchen remodel to reflect his lifestyle and personality – a kitchen suitable for a real man’s man. His initial selection of Yellow River granite from Shenoy Stone became the driving force behind other selections such as the wood, stain, backsplash, tile and paint.
We set right to work ridding the space of dated elements such as the furdown, plate ledge, wallpaper and the all-too-common light box. The new recessed lights set off the solid oak cabinets with raised panel doors and Auburn Anigre stain. Undercabinet lighting shows off both the granite counters and the tile backsplash, which is a 3×6 Mexican travertine set in a broken joint pattern.
Navajo White paint from Sherwin Williams and the hopscotch patterned floor tile from Crossville freshened the look of the kitchen. As a final touch, we added wooden stars to the cabinets above the venthood and refrigerator to give the room a particularly Texas flavor.
New appliances and more
Our client went the full distance in this kitchen remodel by updating his appliances with an Electrolux double oven, DCS gas cooktop, Zephyr venthood, and Fisher Paykel dishwasher from Norwest Appliance.
As our client shared his pleasure of finally having a kitchen he could call his own, he learned TriFection also installs top-quality replacement windows. He was pleasantly surprised to learn we could offer him a price meaningfully lower than bids he previously received from other window companies. Not only did he choose us for window replacements throughout the house, but he has asked us to remodel his bathrooms next year. We can’t wait to get started on those masculine makeovers.
