Our clients craved a new kitchen for their home in Richmond. As a retired couple with plenty of good ideas and an engineering background, they took the initiative to draw up their own plans and visited a nearby Ferguson showroom to pick new appliances. During that visit, they heard TriFection was a top-quality custom remodeler that could help refine their plans and execute them flawlessly. So, they called us for an in-home consultation and quickly gained confidence we could live up to our reputation. TriFection’s turnkey service (from Design to Done), attention to detail (which engineers rightfully demand), personal rapport and shared Aggie credentials sealed the deal. Cheaper options existed, but they wanted this retirement dream kitchen done right. TriFection would lead the way.
Custom cabinetry with gorgeous glass
TriFection gutted our clients’ kitchen, including removing a wall between the refrigerator and the original oven cabinet. We built and installed new custom beech wood cabinetry, finished in Sherwin Williams Pure White paint with Berenson brushed nickel pulls and clear glass knobs. A large pantry cabinet featured more accessible pullout drawers, and upper cabinets with clear glass display fronts reached the ceiling.
For their countertops, our clients selected Lusso Silestone, fabricated with a full bullnose edge. They followed our advice and allowed us to roll that material up and over the backsplash at the high bar, and they love the resulting clean look. Our tiling professionals installed a new backsplash throughout the rest of the kitchen, laying 3×6 Brites Canvas tile from Interceramic in a herringbone design. TriFection also placed 20×20 Tosca Noce tile down in a diagonal pattern for new kitchen floors and in the surrounding areas, including the breakfast room, a hallway, and entry way. Our clients were especially pleased with our crew’s ability to cut and lay tile on a few challenging angles. They referred to the tile crew leader as a “true artist.”
Sleek stainless steel appliances
Our clients upgraded their kitchen technology with professional-grade, stainless steel appliances from Ferguson, including a new Thermador range, Thermador convection microwave, and GE French door refrigerator. Our clients also purchased a new matching vent hood. They chose to reuse their dishwasher. We installed a Mirabelle undermount, double-bowl stainless steel kitchen sink with a Moen pull-out spray faucet in a stainless finish.
TriFection updated the kitchen with plenty of modern lighting, including LED lights above, inside and underneath the upper cabinetry. We also hung new light fixtures above the sink and peninsula, and we replaced the existing recessed can lights with new LED inserts. As a result, they can see better during food preparation (these folks love to cook), and the lighting effect is perfect for entertaining. We wrapped up the remodel with a fresh coat of paint, matching the existing wall and ceiling colors and painting the trims in Sherwin Williams Pure White.
Engineering a great outcome
Our clients are thrilled with the kitchen remodel and are thoroughly enjoying their new cooking space. They also appreciated our effective management of the process and the skill of our master craftsmen, which they observed closely every day. TriFection completed this remodeling project right on the predicted schedule. With superior eyes for detail and higher standards for precision, engineers are not easily impressed. However, by simply doing what we do every day, TriFection just added another engineer to our happy, loyal client base.
