Our client possessed hands-on experience with home remodeling, but he knew his kitchen project would be best left to the professionals. Even a knowledgeable do-it-yourselfer likely would not be equipped to handle certain elements of this remodeling effort. The key was finding a contractor that could provide smart design and selections ideas as well as flawless execution, including highly skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail. Given his familiarity with remodeling and immaculately maintained home, his standards would be high. As with many of our clients, he contacted TriFection based on the strong endorsement from Tom Tynan on HomeShow Radio, and he chose us following an in-depth consultation at his home with one of our owners.
A clear vision
Our client wanted to upgrade the look of his kitchen, replacing the diamond-patterned wallpaper, nondescript Corian countertops and tile backsplash. The cabinets were in good shape and functioned reasonably well, but he wanted upgraded quality and a new stain color that would coordinate well with his other pending selections. He also wanted better sight lines and a more open concept between the kitchen and living area, which would make for a more entertaining-friendly environment. That meant we needed to remove a large column between the rooms.
During the initial consultation, we agreed refacing was the best solution for his cabinets, instead of all new custom cabinets or refinishing. However, we also convinced him to tear out his existing pantry closet in favor of a very popular TriFection pantry cabinet with pullout drawers, along with a new refrigerator cabinet. The pantry cabinet would not only look much better than the closet but also give him more storage capacity and easier accessibility to the stored items. The refrigerator cabinet would give his new appliance a nice built-in appearance.
Everything has its place
The TriFection team began the project onsite by carefully demoing the kitchen. While onsite, our frame carpenters confirmed the column in need of removal was not load-bearing. However, it did contain electrical wiring and plumbing lines that would have to be relocated to another wall. Our master electrician and master plumber skillfully handled these requirements without causing major sheetrock repairs.
We built the new and refaced cabinets with solid oak wood stained Golden Hickory. Our client chose Berenson Oasis cabinet hardware in an oil rubbed bronze finish. We installed contrasting Black Galaxy granite for the countertops, including the lowered high bar with an eyebrow overhang behind the sink. The backsplash tile selection was a Mexican travertine, and we dressed up the half wall below the granite overhang with Imperial Ledger stacked stone. The result was an amazing transformation that truly modernized and personalized the space for our client.
Nice and neat are tough to beat
Our client loves his remodeled kitchen. In TriFection, he found a partner that delivered his vision while respecting his very clean home filled with valuable artifacts collected over the years. In addition, when he encountered an issue with his appliances following installation, TriFection stepped up quickly on his behalf to resolve it with one of the manufacturer’s local representatives. Beyond the superior craftsmanship, that is the kind of relationship-based premium service that our clients greatly appreciate from TriFection. After the remodel is completed, we’re here when you need us.
