Some things get better with age. Bathrooms aren’t on that list. When our clients in Southwest Houston contacted us, they were looking for a bigger bathroom more in step with their modern and elegant taste. Bathroom remodeling was the answer.
What we found on our first visit was a typical 50 square-foot space. We also discovered unused space in the bedroom that would allow us to enlarge the bathroom to 85 square feet. Our clients were delighted and gave us the go-ahead.
During the bathroom remodeling demolition process, we uncovered issues needing immediate attention: wiring that did not meet code and framing that had rotted behind the walls. Our team quickly corrected the problems and completed rerouting the existing duct work and wiring to acheive the new floor plan.
From bathroom to showplace
The new, larger bathroom features Dillon Triple Sconce vanity lights from Restoration Hardware that set off the Super White granite countertops with a backsplash made of Lucente Linear Concordia (a glass and stone mosaic tile), brushed nickel plumbing fixtures from the Moen Voss line and the undermount sinks from the Kohler Memoirs collection.
Supporting it all are custom “shaker style” vanity cabinets, as well as a tower and head knocker cabinet, made of solid beech wood for additional storage, all handbuilt by TriFection’s in-house cabinet craftsmen.
Finally, in the shower, Perspective White tiles (which are glazed porcelain) were used for the shower surround, shower floor, and the remaining bathroom floor. The shower was also accented with Lucente Linear Concordia tile. The shower features included two recessed shampoo niches, a bench seat, a 9” diameter two-function shower head, and a separate handheld shower unit.
To complete the look, we added custom-patterned glass, “Satin Etched Dots”, for both the shower surround and head knocker cabinet doors. The result is a larger, elegant and completely updated master bath.
