Missouri City Bathroom Remodel

Missouri City Bathroom Remodel

missouri city bathroom renovationFootball is a game of inches.  A bathroom makeover can be one, too. To our client in Missouri City, her master bathroom’s dated look felt like a 15-yard penalty. Being a longtime Houston Texans season ticket holder, it’s no surprise she learned of TriFection while listening to Sports Radio 610’s HomeShow Radio with Tom Tynan. She wanted a trustworthy contractor – a company that would provide comprehensive design, selections assistance and turnkey management of the project. She wanted a well-established, highly professional company with a sterling reputation for client service. Even though we talked nearly as much about college and pro football as we did remodeling during the first meeting, she knew TriFection was the right team for her with this Missouri City bathroom remodel.

Time out for a bathroom makeover

Today’s bathrooms are open and spacious. Our client’s was anything but. It was highly compartmentalized. There were interior walls for two separate closets and a water closet. Remedying this would require some serious demo.

We started by knocking down walls to open up the room. Instead of two closets, we re-framed for one large closet. That led to relocating the bathroom’s entry door further down the wall that separates the bathroom and master bedroom.

Electrical issues uncovered

After opening walls to do the necessary electrical work, we discovered something else: the source of electrical problems that had plagued our client for years. After extensive troubleshooting, we installed new circuits and added GFI-protected outlets. By bringing the house in compliance with modern code, our client now sleeps better knowing her home is safe.

A whole new ballgame

By making so many changes, we effectively created a new bathroom footprint. Meaning, this bathroom remodel was a whole new ballgame—just as she wished.

Then, we added a new headknocker cabinet, a linen cabinet with pullout hamper and a matching custom mirror frame. TriFection’s custom cabinetry team crafted it all of solid maple with raised coved fronts, all featuring special antiqued glazing.

We topped the new counters, backsplash and shower knee wall with Blue Bahia granite—a beautiful, high-end material. It was just one of the many recommendations the client trusted to our selections manager Melanie Heinrich.

Making over the shower

The bathroom’s new footprint gave us room to create a stunning walk-in frameless glass shower, featuring a bench seat, handheld shower unit and recessed niche crafted with more of the Blue Bahia granite with a waterfall edge.

We covered the shower floor with 2” x 2” mosaic Monocibec Ethnos Yuma tile from Crossville. The shower walls, meanwhile, feature a four-inch band of Breeze 5/8” square tiles from Stone Quarry and 10” x 20” Monocibec Ethnos Yuma tile, also from Crossville, in a broken joint pattern. We then extended this pattern outside the shower to provide a wainscot around the Victoria & Albert clawfoot tub .

Added details, added luxury

This entire bathroom makeover is filled with added touches such as a towel warmer and overhead TV by the tub, allowing for prime football viewing while soaking, of course. Then, there are the LED recessed can lights, nicely accented by the Maxim vanity lights and coordinated chandelier from M&M Lighting.

To give her bathroom the look of a modern spa, we installed a pocket entry door featuring a specialty “reed” glass panel.

Lastly, we painted the bathroom and bedroom Kilim Beige from Sherwin Williams, which tied together all the other selections nicely, with one accent wall in the bedroom painted a Latte color.

Missouri City Bathroom Remodel Tickles Pink

Throughout the process, our client expressed amazement at how professional, neat and respectful all of TriFection’s trades were. She was equally delighted at how the project was scheduled and managed. The lead time before demo was over a year, which allowed her to make the perfect selections without feeling pressured or rushed. With all of those decisions finalized and the job well-planned and fully staged beforehand, execution ran smoothly and we finished on time.

“You did everything you said you would,” she said. That’s praise enough for us to put this project in the win column.
