Saving lives is a way of life for this Sugar Land client. His work as a surgeon requires extraordinary knowledge and precision as well as trustworthiness. He wanted to find similar qualities in a kitchen remodeling company: highly skilled craftsmen and knowledgeable managers he could trust for superior advice and execution. After hearing about TriFection on SportsRadio 610 and then meeting with us, he was convinced he’d found the perfect fit. His wise approach to this remodeling project was supported by a proven philosophy dating back many centuries…..
Kitchen remodeling starts with a vision
For this kitchen remodeling project, our client wanted something modern and more compatible with his outgoing, social nature. Since he enjoys hosting parties, he wanted a welcoming venue with the “Wow!” factor.
Giving this kitchen a fresh look would mean bland white Corian countertops had to go—but, the cabinets themselves might work, depending on his countertop selection. TriFection’s selections team helped him choose Venetian Gold granite from Midwest Tile, Marble & Granite, coupled with a natural stone and glass mosaic blend of American Florim Iced Rocks Amethyst from Crossville Tile & Stone.
Refacing keeps kitchen remodeling within budget
Even though his existing plywood cabinets were a bit worn and lacking character, our client liked the overall kitchen layout. In order to keep the project within his budget, we suggested refacing the existing cabinet boxes along with some minor modifications.
Refacing means adding a real wood “skin” to existing cabinet boxes as well as handcrafting new doors and drawers, including upgraded hidden hinges and soft-close, undermount drawer guides. Our client wisely chose cherry wood with Auburn Anigre stain, which complemented his new granite countertop. Berenson Adagio cabinet knobs and Amerock Kane drawer pulls, all in an oil rubbed bronze finish, were added to give his cabinets the desired look.
Appliances complete this kitchen remodeling project
The addition of high-end stainless steel appliances from Nor-West Appliances provide this kitchen the ample “Wow!” our client wanted. He selected a suite of Dacor appliances, including a Renaissance double oven and Epicure warming drawer, a Discovery convection microwave and a Renaissance gas cooktop with Zephyr Sorrento downdraft vent.
Our client also selected an Electrolux counter-depth French door refrigerator and Fisher Paykel Tall Tub double-drawer style dishwasher to finish out the kitchen. Plus, he added a GE Monogram built-in compact refrigerator in the bar area.
Kitchen remodeling is a matter of balance
The only element of the kitchen that remained unchanged was the floor. Our client’s existing Saltillo tile floor runs throughout the downstairs. Replacing it would have been costly. And, unlike other aspects of his original kitchen, the Saltillo tile’s character blends nicely with the bevy of new selections.
Remodeling success based on ancient philosophy
During the very first meeting, our client openly acknowledged his need for professional assistance when it came to kitchen remodeling. As the Chinese philosopher Confucius once wrote, “True wisdom is knowing what you don’t know.” Our client welcomed TriFection’s ideas and trusted our judgment. That helps explain why he’s a brilliant surgeon…..As a result, the remodeling process was pain-free, and he now has a gorgeous kitchen to show friends and family.
Party time in the new kitchen
With football season upon us, our client (who is also an avid sports fan) is already planning his next big game-watching party. Having scored a touchdown with his new kitchen, he promises TriFection will make the guest list. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the end of this truly enjoyable team effort.
