Heights Bathroom Remodel

IMG_4666Getting what you want is easier when you know what it is you want. So it was with this Heights area client. She had scoured the web and countless design magazines for ideas to remodel her master bathroom. By the time we got a call, she knew exactly what she wanted and trusted TriFection to give her the perfect Heights bathroom remodel. She greeted us with clippings of pictures in hand. That helped us understand where to go with her project. Despite getting some lower-priced bids, she chose TriFection to remodel her master bathroom based on our reputation for quality and highly professional support team.

Big plans for a small master bathroom

Modernizing this compact master bathroom would mean getting rid of a clawfoot tub to clear space for a walk-in shower. A window would need to be eliminated since it would then be in the middle of the new shower. And, a vanity cabinet would need to be built.

Removing the tub took a team of true heavy lifters. They carefully managed to get it out and down a flight of stairs without scratching the walls or wooden stairs. With the area cleared for the new shower, we began by closing the window for good. We framed in the window and installed new Hardie siding with a paint job to match the rest of the home’s exterior. IMG_4674New LED recessed can lighting above the shower and vanity illuminate the room nicely, more than making up for any lost natural light.

Building the perfect shower

We then created a new frameless glass walk-in shower, featuring a marble-topped bench seat, handheld unit and a recessed niche for soaps and shampoos. Crema Marfil 12”x24” covers the shower walls in a broken joint pattern, while Crema Marfil oval mosaic adorns the shower floor.

The shower system itself is a work of art: It features an Altmans Exposed 3/4″ Thermostatic French Curve System in satin nickel finish, complete with shower head, valve and handheld unit. The exposed pipe and curved shower arm provide a throwback element in an otherwise contemporary bathroom. We also used complementary Altmans faucets with a similar old world look and matching satin nickel finish for the vanity sink.

Custom cabinetry pretty as a picture

IMG_4668The vanity cabinet itself was a labor of love for TriFection’s custom cabinet team. Using one of the pictures our client liked, they created tower cabinets complete with drawers for more storage, mirrored tower fronts, a built-in framed mirror and faux feet in place of the traditional toe kick.

The finished cabinet made of solid Beech wood resembles a piece of furniture with Shaker-style fronts painted Dover white to produce a clean, contemporary look. The same Crema Marfil marble used on the shower bench seat made for the perfect countertop, tying the room together.
