Following the lead of their son who recently remodeled, a sweet couple in Tomball decided to update their kitchen. After 20 years, it was time. The worn cabinetry, Corian countertops, and oversized lightbox in the kitchen needed to go. A high bar divided the kitchen more than necessary from the rest of the open floor plan. The couple also wanted to replace a large portion of the flooring throughout their home as well as update their bar and entertainment areas. After reading about TriFection in The HomeMag, they gave us a call. Our focus on top-quality craftsmanship and sizable team of experienced professionals put them at ease. These clients knew we would manage their unique project correctly, so they put the TriFection experts on the case.
Totally taken with new tile
We built and installed new solid oak cabinetry with a Fruitwood stain and oil rubbed bronze hardware from Amerock in the kitchen and adjacent bar. We also built a custom entertainment center in the den. Our clients selected countertops of Alaskan Gold granite from Midwest Tile, Marble & Granite, fabricated with a full bullnose edge. We also put in a 6” granite backsplash at the wet bar. With so much counter space, we needed four slabs of granite!
TriFection’s tile experts installed a natural stone backsplash of 4×8 Crema Marfil tile from Interceramic with a decadent, decorative accent liner of 4×12 Grenadille Bleue Listello tile. We also installed new floors made of 6×48 Treverkchic Noce Italiano tile, which mimics wood, in nearly the entire house. To provide contrast and highlight the step down into our client’s sunken living room, our master tile setters carefully installed Autumn Leaves, a rich Turkish travertine tile from Interceramic at the step. We used 1×1 on the riser and 18×18 on the tread. We also used the 18×18 tile to update the fireplace façade in the den. It beautifully complemented a handcrafted mantel our clients’ son had made.
Top-notch appliances
Our clients chose stainless steel Thermador appliances from Ferguson, including a double oven, a gas cooktop with downdraft, and a dishwasher. They also purchased a GE microwave and Sub-Zero refrigerator in matching finishes. TriFection installed a Kraus apron front sink in a stainless steel finish from Ferguson along with a Delta pull-out spray faucet in an Arctic Stainless finish. We brightened the kitchen with modern LED recessed can lights and undercabinet lighting along with an eye-catching Hinkley linear pendant light from Ferguson over the kitchen island.
Everyone is impressed
Our clients are thrilled they trusted to TriFection to remodel their home. They particularly love the gorgeous granite countertops and mosaic tile backsplash in the kitchen. The changes fit their personal style, and as a result, they are already considering remodeling another set of built-in cabinets in the living room for their book collection. Even a young granddaughter is very impressed. She asked our clients during a recent stay, “Can I move in with you?!”
