Cramped, inconvenient, and dated. That’s how our clients in west Houston felt about their small galley kitchen. They called TriFection to modernize it for cooking and entertaining, within a reasonable budget. They’d heard Tom Tynan on HomeShow Radio talk about TriFection’s Form-Function-Fit and called us to do the job.
Kitchen remodels open things up
Our first step was to eliminate part of wall between our clients’ kitchen and formal dining room. Instead, we replaced it with a high bar concept, allowing for guest seating and better sight lines between rooms. We built new solid oak cabinets with raised panel doors and a cherry stain. The upper cabinets were extended all the way to ceiling, offsetting the cabinetry space lost by taking out the wall. The result provides even greater storage than the old kitchen.
Pantry cabinets provide more space
We also tore out the old pantry closet and designed a more user-friendly pantry cabinet. This amazing storage unit features six pullout drawers that provide more storage capacity and easier accessibility than any pantry closet. Pantry cabinets have become one of TriFection’s most popular upgrades.
Floors, walls, and more
Tan brown granite counters from Omni Surfaces with a standard 1-1/2″ bullnose edge add a feel of luxury to the space, complemented by the Vesale Sand 2×2 tile backsplash in a mosaic pattern from Marazzi Tile. It’s a look that comes to life at night thanks to undercabinet lights that also show off their Kraus undermount stainless steel sink and Kohler faucet. Finally, we replaced the clunky light box from last century with recessed can lighting for a thoroughly modern look.
A new kitchen deserves new appliances. Our client selected a Frigidaire gas convection range, Frigidaire over-the-range microwave and a Bosch dishwasher. Then, to make the most efficient use of space in a small kitchen, our client chose a Frigidaire counter-depth refrigerator.
One good room leads to another
With the kitchen updated, the adjacent dining room needed a fresh look as well. So, we replaced the carpet with Santos Mahogany wood floors form ProSource’s Kendall Exotics line. It’s no wonder why our client then chose TriFection to replace their dated windows with more modern, energy-efficient windows at a very budget-friendly price.
This small kitchen now packs big features that so delighted our client that they referred a friend who is now embarking on a major TriFection kitchen project.
