Few things will suppress your desire to get a kitchen update like a bad remodeling experience. That was the case for these clients in southwest Houston. After another contractor had needlessly strung out the remodeling of their bathroom, it took them years to get the courage to try again. This time, though, they did things differently by calling TriFection.
Trusted kitchen update advice
A kitchen remodel that starts right goes right. In this case, our clients came to TriFection as a result of advice from HomeShow Radio’s Tom Tynan. Once Tom shared his first-hand experience with his own TriFection kitchen remodel, our clients’ minds were made up.
Out with the old…
Our clients needed more storage capacity. So, we removed furdowns over their cabinets. Next, we ripped out the old pantry closet. We also removed upper cabinets above the space between the kitchen and living area, widening the opening to the bottom of the existing header. To complete the new layout, we eliminated the island in the middle of the kitchen. The result – a more open and entertainment-friendly kitchen area.
In with the new…
Since space was a driving force in this kitchen update, our in-house cabinet design & build team created a TriFection pantry cabinet. Complete with pullouts that eliminate wasted space, TriFection pantry cabinets provide far more useful storage than any pantry closet can deliver.
Our clients wanted their kitchen update to be simple but feature just a little “pizzazz.” That’s why they chose solid beech cabinets with Shaker style doors painted white.
We enhanced the clean, elegant feel of the cabinets with Silver Pearl granite counters, complete with a Kraus undermount sink and Delta faucet, complemented by the Brites Smoke 3×6 ceramic tile backsplash from Interceramic in a subway pattern with darker gray accent tile above the cooktop.
Our clients’ choice of a sleek Kenmore appliance package, including double oven, cooktop, venthood, refrigerator and dishwasher, added yet another touch of pizzazz.
Details make the difference in a kitchen update
Gray porcelain floor tile from Crossville brings together the colors in the room. For added elegance, we added pendant and undercabinet lights.
If the room seems particularly bright, it’s probably at least partially because of the modern energy-efficient windows we installed in the kitchen and breakfast room.
A better experience?
While our clients were delighted with the outcome of their project, they did have one regret – not having called TriFection much sooner. As a side note, this project proved that proud Longhorn alums (our clients) and Aggie alums (TriFection) can still work together to produce a beautiful outcome!
