WARNING: Getting exactly what you want can indeed become habit forming. Back in 2012, these Jersey Village clients retained TriFection to remodel their master bathroom. In 2013, we were back for downstairs flooring, painting and remodeling a powder bath to accommodate an elderly parent. For 2014, it was a full kitchen makeover, including a butler’s pantry.
Kitchen makeover to the max
As is so often the case, these clients’ kitchen needs changed over the years. Their old kitchen cried out for more countertop space. They also wanted expanded, efficient and accessible storage. And, of course, they wanted TriFection to give the whole kitchen a fresh, updated look.
As is our practice, TriFection’s design and selections team engaged in a thorough discovery process with the clients. We began by assisting them in the selection of various materials, including wood, countertops, tile, fixtures, hardware, appliances, etc. —everything needed to deliver a kitchen that not only fits their needs, but also fulfills their dreams.
Our experts take what we learn in this process and use it to produce three-dimensional computer drawings and finish samples for approval before actual work begins. Investing this extra planning effort allows us to make adjustments in advance on paper rather than in the middle of the construction phase, thereby avoiding delays and other unwanted surprises.
Materials make the difference in this kitchen makeover
Our clients selected custom solid oak wood for their new cabinets, complete with Shaker style fronts and Dark Library stain. For added convenience, they requested a pullout trash can and pullout spice rack. We also added a butler’s pantry, continuing the kitchen cabinets around a corner toward the living area. In the process, we greatly increased storage and created a beautiful, natural transition between the two rooms.
New undercabinet lights set off the porcelain tile backsplash from Crossville Tile and Stone, installed in a broken joint pattern. Meanwhile, the Kraus stainless steel sink with brushed nickel kitchen faucet from Kohler seems right at home with the Tropical Brown granite countertops from Omni Surfaces.
Our clients also selected a complete appliance package from Nor-West Appliance. This meant designing and building a custom refrigerator cabinet that not only integrated the new fridge into the new space, but provided added vertical shelving above.
Storage and access simplified
Kitchen pantries are typically monuments to wasted space. This pantry closet was no exception. That’s why our clients asked TriFection to create one of our popular custom pantry cabinets. This one features six pullout drawers that multiply storage capacity while simplifying access.
Finally, we finished out the kitchen makeover by painting the walls with Kilim Beige paint from Sherwin Williams.
Could this happy ending be just another beginning?
As was the case twice before, our clients are thrilled with TriFection’s craftsmanship and the functionality provided. This big step in the transformation of their home already has our clients contemplating their fourth go around with TriFection in 2015.
