Our clients’ older, well-kept home is exactly what you’d expect to find in Bellaire. But, what they wanted was the unexpected in their hallway bath: a bathroom remodel using natural elements to give the room a “spa-like” feel. Making that happen would mean making changes.
Demo marks the start of this bathroom remodel
Before transforming the hallway bath, we first had to make it ready. That meant removing a living room bookshelf in order to provide more space in the bathroom. Then, we removed the tub and opened up the wall between the vanity and bathtub areas.
Custom cabinetry refreshes this bathroom remodel
TriFection’s cabinetry team created custom Shaker style cabinets and matching mirror frames, all painted in Dover White. Next, we added Athens Woods marble vanity countertops with a waterfall edge from Omni Surfaces. Then, we completed the vanities with brushed nickel hardware from Berenson Hardware.
The vanities set the stage for a Philadelphia Hamlet 6” x12” mosaic on the feature wall behind the mirrors, effectively anchoring the spa feel requested by our clients.
What’s a spa without a proper shower?
To complete the spa feel, we created a custom frameless glass shower with a bench seat. We covered the shower walls and bench with 26” x 17” Ferroker Aluminio tile in a broken joint pattern that looks as if it were straight out of an exclusive spa.
2” x 2” Barcelona II Mix Mosaic from Interceramic on the shower floor is complemented by 1” x 2” Soho Fusion Brick Cape Cod, also from Interceramic, in the recessed soap niche. Brushed nickel Moen plumbing fixtures from Ferguson Bath, Kitchen and Lighting Gallery complete a decidedly exclusive look.
Top to bottom details round out this bathroom remodel
Four new LED recessed can lights both fill the room with ample light while showing off the 26” x 17” Ferroker Aluminio tile, as used in the shower, set in a broken joint pattern on the bathroom floor.
The finished result is the fulfillment of our clients’ wish for the feeling of a spa getaway just down the hall. All that’s needed now are fluffy robes and slippers.
